Shocking news comes from widely used ads blocker service, Adblock Plus, they launched new service to put ads on their program. They are hoping to put good ads to replace the bad ads. Bad ads term means anything deems too big or too intrusive, replaced with good acceptable ads; which are smaller, subtler, and less annoying.
This service will allow blog or other websites to be put what so called good acceptable ads, based on Adblock marketplace criteria. If a visitor installs Adblock they will see ads from Adblock instead the ads from page normally run.
“It allows you to treat the two different ecosystems completely differently and monetize each one,” says Ben Williams, Adblock Plus’ operations and communications director. “And crucially, monetize the ad blockers on on their own terms.”
Adblock use ads from marketplace to choose ads based on acceptable criteria. Ad Marketplace itself is an extension of acceptable ads program from Adblock since 2011. Since then Adblock actually have placed ads on their service, but not as much.
Negative respon from netizens
Many Adblock Plus users state their cons about the ads service.
“You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain,” one Reddit user quoted Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight Rises in a thread of nearly 2,000 comments discussing the change. One-and two-star reviews flooded in Google Chrome Adblock Plus review, which routinely yield five-star.
“Who do you think you are?” one user wrote. “The internet police?” reported by NewYork Times
